Detailed information about the Berliner Weisse type of beer |
|
Berliner Weisse is a special kind of beer, almost exclusively brewed in the Berlin area.
It is very weak and contains only about 2.8 percent alcohol. This type of Weizenbier has a very sour taste, which is why it is often drunk with different kinds of syrup mixed to it. Most common flavours for this are probably "Waldmeister" (green color), raspberry (red) or lemon (yellow). Due to its low alcohol content, Berliner Weisse is usually served with a straw. In my personal opinion, you should not waste your time trying to get drunk with this "beer", because there are plenty of other choices of German beer that taste better and really are considered beer by the majority of Germans (which does not apply to this brand ;-)). Hangover risk: Not very high |
